  • Acting Foundations (Rolling Classes)

A foundation-building acting program that helps young performers grow in confidence, creativity, and performance skills through improv, movement, storytelling, and scene work.

These are rolling classes, designed for both beginners and returning students. We continually strengthen core acting skills while working with new material and imaginative scenarios to keep the work fresh and engaging.

    Ages 9–17
Students work with scripts, scenes, and introductory monologues, while exploring improv, character work, and occasional microphone work for animation.

    Ages 5–8
A playful class focused on improv, storytelling, movement, and character play—building creative acting skills without the requirement of reading scripts.

All classes take place in a supportive environment where kids are encouraged to take risks, be imaginative, and have fun while performing.

Meet the Instructor

Jamie Sara Lewis

Growing up in Syracuse, I knew I wanted to perform long before I understood how to begin. With no roadmap, I did what many actors do - I packed my bags after high school, moved to New York City, and pounded the pavement. I learned the industry from the ground up, piece by piece, in one of the toughest and most exhilarating markets in the world.

I’m a professionally trained film and stage actor, having studied at The New Conservatory for Dramatic Arts in NYC, and I’ve continued to train with some of the best coaches and directors in both New York and Los Angeles. That foundation shaped the work I do today - grounded, truthful storytelling built on strong technique and play.

My career has spanned improv & sketch comedy, Off-Broadway theatre, and film and television work in both NYC and Los Angeles. Over time, I found my true creative home in voice acting, where I’ve brought characters to life across commercials, animation, video games, promos, and narration.

Currently, among many other projects, you can hear my work in Dr. Seuss’ The Sneetches on Netflix, where I voice Sally Sneedly (and additional characters), as well as in the upcoming, highly anticipated Laika Studios feature film Wildwood - from the creators of Coraline, Kubo and the Two Strings, and ParaNorman.

With more than 20 years in the business, I’ve built a career anchored in creativity, discipline, and play - and now I’m excited to bring that real-world experience home to Central New York. Teaching young performers how to stay grounded, explore boldly, and build confidence through play is something I love, and I’m thrilled to offer that here in Syracuse.
